カツラの葉はハート型に似た円形が特徴的で、秋には黄色く紅葉します。落葉は甘い香り（ワタアメのにおいに似ている）がします。成長すると主幹が折れ、株立ちするものが多いが、このカツラは、主幹が一本の幹になっており、見応えのある巨木となっています。道路からも見えますが、近くでご覧になる場合は、畑の中にあるので所有者の許可が必要です。
The leaves of katsura trees are characterized by their round heart shape. They turn yellow with the autumn chill, and produce a sweet scent like cotton candy after they have fallen. As a katsura tree grows, its trunk often splits into several segments that continue to grow in a cluster. This tree's trunk retained its shape, making it a unique and beautiful specimen.
